The Flying Squirrel is Chattanooga’s best new restaurant located in downtown’s Southside. The owners, Max Poppel and Dan Rose wanted distributed audio to compliment all interior and exterior areas of the restaurant that included separate sources for the kitchen staff to enjoy. High ceilings, open architecture, hard surfaces and consideration for the neighbors in close proximity all posed challenges to clear, crisp, intelligible background music for this design. Encore Broadcast Solutions was contracted to compliment an environment that serves refined dining in the afternoon yet could transition to high energy in the evening.
We installed JBL Control series speakers in the interior and exterior dining areas with Extron buffered audio source inputs located behind the bar for local control. The amplifiers and security system are wall mounted in the General Manager’s office using Middle Atlantic EWR series swivel racks. Color video is captured for security using Honeywell dome cameras and Honeywell HDR series DVR with remote viewing using the Honeywell application. Encore’s method of effective audio design and security measures has generated an enjoyable atmosphere with increased revenue.
